In two dimensions, the maximum focal irradiance is found to be proportional to the sine of the directional spread as well as the input power. In three dimensions, the corresponding relation is found in parametric form. © 2007 Optical Society of America.||Source Title:||Journal of the Optical Society of America A: Optics and Image Science, and Vision||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/52538||ISSN:||10847529||DOI:||10.1364/JOSAA.24.002057|
