Abstract: Silk scaffolds having biomimetic hierarchical porous structures were achieved by carefully tuning liquid-liquid separation in regenerated silk fibroin solutions. Such scaffolds show greatly enhanced cellular responses. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
