Transactions - 7th World Biomaterials Congress : 1532-. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The effect of uniaxial cyclic mechanical strain on cells' growth on different forms of knitted Poly-Lactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) scaffolds was investigated. It was observed that cyclic mechanical strain induced elongated cells and more alignment in the direction of straining axis. The difference of cell population in each orientation angle between experimental and control sample of sheet-form scaffold was found to be larger than that in tubular-form scaffolds. Cyclic mechanical strain was suggested to be more effective on sheet-form scaffolds. | Source Title: | Transactions - 7th World Biomaterials Congress | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/51571 | ISBN: | 1877040193 |
