This ethnographic study of the Sri Siva Durga temple and the Shree Lakshminarayan temple as 'South' and 'North' Indian Hindu temples in Singapore, investigates the social interactions between "local" Hindus and new professional migrants. Community worship and voluntarism are structured temple activities that allow for intercultural interactions, and are examined with a special focus on pilgrimage and temple tours.
