Abstract: This research made a study on design of functional copolymers based on naturally occurring materials, such as cyclodextrin and lignin, and cationic polymers (low molecular weight PEI and PDMAEMA), followed by investigating their potential applications in biomedical field. Three copolymer systems were developed in this work, targeted gene delivery system by conjugating HA with star polymer ¿-CD-OEI, sustained gene delivery carrier by cyclodextrin-based supramolecular hydrogel and novel lignin-PDMAEMA cationic copolymer.
