dc.description.abstract	This thesis examines the concept "Xie Yi" in poems on landscape paintings of Northern Song dynasty, centering on five survived paintings. Poems on paintings originate from the Six Dynasties, As a special type of poetry whose growth accompanies the landscape painting?s development, poems on paintings sprout in Tang Dynasty and then get into their first production peak in Northern Song.
