ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||The development of a knowledge-embedded database system to generate construction schedules as a pre-processor to a project scheduling software is discussed. The decomposition of knowledge and their embedment in a database management system is presented as the approach towards a deeper integration of knowledge-based systems with the traditional data processing systems. The success of this integration is believed to be the key that would give momentum to the prototype to advance into the operational stage. Other approaches undertaken by similar work is compared. The knowledge domain and system architecture for this system are outlined.
