Issue Date: | 2003 | Citation: | Ling, Y.Y. (2003). A conceptual model for selection of architects by project managers in Singapore. International Journal of Project Management 21 (2) : 135-144. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1016/S0263-7863(02)00014-5 | Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual model for the selection of architects by project managers. The model was developed from four theories: Theory of Job Performance, Theory of Contextual Performance, Network Theory of Embeddedness and Theory of the Firm. The model was tested by a postal survey of project managers who work for property developers. The principal .nding is that 34 of the 40 attributes identified are important, and these were used to construct the Architect Selection Model. This paper is important because it identifies the attributes that project managers would look out for when selecting and evaluating architects. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd and IPMA.
