The results indicate that the extent of the features tends to increase when the Web adoption progresses from lower to higher level. Two broad Web site categories can be identified: informational and transactional Web sites. Proactive business strategy, firm size, and competitive advantage are found to be positively related to Web adoption level. Implications of these results are discussed. © 2003 Elsevier B.V.
