dc.description.abstract | Considerable effort has been made to study fluorinated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) composites by various approaches. In this dissertation two paralleled series of experiments were conducted. The first is to study the effect of fluorination of ZnO/CNTs nanocomposites and its effects on the field emission performance, where the results show that field emission properties of ZnO/CNTs nanocomposites are considerably enhanced due to fluorination. The second is to investigate the impact of fluorination of CNTs/carbon cloth (CNTs/CC) and other alternatives to improve impact resistance properties of abalone-shell like samples as a whole. The as-fabricated abalone-shell like CNT composites of super high energy absorption show huge potential to be the alternatives to current anti-ballistic materials. | |
