Behavior and properties of transmission control protocol (TCP) tunnels in conjunction with RED routers and advantages from the congestion control mechanism of TCP/IP is presented. The use of TCP tunnels reduces many flow situations on the internet. It also eliminates packet losses in the core routers of the congested backbones. The result shows that the TCP tunnels can assist in avoiding congestion collapse on the internet due to unresponsive UDP flows.
