Abstract: The detection of palindrome sequences in DNA sequences is important in Biology. Palindrome is also called inverted repeat and is an important element in the human genome. This paper presents a novel technique of applying modified periodic transform and signal processing methods in the domain of palindrome detection. Palindrome has recently received a lot attention in the research community due to its significance in identifying several key areas in a genome in relation to gene amplification, gene regulation and diseases. © 2004 IEEE.
