Title: | A Diffusion Process for Wavelet-Transform-Based Image Denoising and Its Application to Document Image Binarization | Authors: | Fan, L. Fan, L. Tan, C. |
Issue Date: | 2003 | Citation: | Fan, L.,Fan, L.,Tan, C. (2003). A Diffusion Process for Wavelet-Transform-Based Image Denoising and Its Application to Document Image Binarization. IEEE International Conference on Image Processing 3 : 353-356. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | A diffusion process which is used for wavelet-transform-based image denoising was discussed. Spatial correlations between wavelet coefficients were studied by replacing the thresholding process with a diffusion process. Coplanar matrices were used to study the spatial correlations of wavelet transforms. It was found that diffusion process can distinguish and suppress noise more effectively than thresholding process. | Source Title: | IEEE International Conference on Image Processing | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/40221 |
