dc.description.abstractThe sensitivity of the method for glycerol determination by Lambert and Neish (Lambert, M. and Neish, A.C. (1950) Can. J. Res. Sect. B 28, 83-89) can be enhanced by simple modifications of the procedure. As much as a five-fold increase in the sensitivity of the method could be obtained by measuring the absorbance of the coloured complex at 367 nm instead of 570 nm and by prolonging the heating period for colour development.
