国民党的权力重组--1931年宁粤对峙研究 = Power re-distribution in KMT: A study of the power struggle between Nanjing and Guangzhou government in 1931

Abstract

The Power Struggle between the Nanjing and Guangzhou Governments in 1931 was a watershed event in the history of the KMT. This struggle was later joined by regional authorities and culminated in Jiang Kai-Sheka??s temporary resignation from power. Up till now, analysis with regards to this period of history has been vague at best, primarily because the personal grievances between factional leaders played an important role in the power struggle, and critical historical records by the KMT was unavailable to researchers. However, Taiwan has recently made public the KMTa??s whole corpus of literature, which was penned during their rule in Mainland China, thereby providing valuable information about this historical event. Being fortunate enough to have studied this corpus of primary historical records, my thesis is able to provide a comprehensive and structured account of the power re-organization within the KMT and the establishment of factional rule in China.
