The Charlotte Crisis is a role-playing storygame, in which the player takes on the role of the titular Charlotte (or Charles, if male-presenting), assigned male at birth (AMAB), and begins the game as one who cross-dresses as a hobby. Set in her home and school, she navigates her interpersonal relationships with family and friends, and the development of her identity. This thesis documents my iterative process of developing the game through playtesting to produce an engaging interactive storytelling experience. I focused on aspects of interactive media, game design, game interface/interaction design, and not to forget team organisation and programming as well.
