dc.description.abstractTwo-dimensional (2D) materials have attracted numerous research attentions for its superior specific surface area and excellent properties in multi aspects such as electronics, photonics, and magnetics. Among them, graphene oxide (GO) is one of promising 2D materials with the capability realizing tunable surface physicochemical property due to its abundant oxygen-containing groups and the easy accessibility. Taking advantage of their unique surface characteristic, GO membranes are one of popular candidates for such functional adaptive membranes for its abundant functional groups branched at the surface with which the interlayer distance and the surface charge can be both adjustable by environmental pH and ions. Moreover, holding the extreme large specific area and satisfactory conductivity, GO and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) are naturally promising candidates for microbial electrodes, which are crucial in the microbial electrochemical systems (MES) dedicated to the bioremediation and low carbon energy supplement.
