Organic single-crystalline heterojunctions can combine the advantages of different materials and achieve high performance, which can be applied in OFETs, OPDs and photovoltaic solar cells. However, the thick thickness can significantly influence the device performance of organic single-crystalline heterojunctions. Because the depletion region of OFET devices is only a few molecular layers, and the ability of field-effect modulation decreases exponentially with the increase of thickness of the semiconductor layer. Low-dimensional (1D/2D) organic single crystals with molecular-scale thickness are supposed to solve the above problems. There exist several challenges for low-dimensional organic single-crystalline heterojunctions: efficient constructing strategies, high-performance and novel devices, large-area fabrication. Therefore, to solve above problems, we develop three kinds of low-dimensional organic single-crystalline heterojunctions from the aspects of preparation, performance and applications. Our work will provide new insight for the construction of low-dimensional organic single-crystalline heterojunctions and the development of advanced optoelectronic applications.
