Abstract: Many sexualized network mechanisms operate subliminally within the business of prostitution in and around the Geylang Designated Red-Light Area. This thesis follows the investigation into the physical phenomena spatial manifestation of local prostitution in Geylang by concentrating on the user profile that drives the business - the prostitutes. The reality of the business in creating a level of sustained consciousness and intensity within the district recognizes the fact that the physical and mental well being of the prostitutes needs to be taken care of. The derivation of an affordable all-girl locale where girls can go to with proximity to relax, revitalize and rejuvenate becomes the next logical program to be developed amidst a proliferation of budget hotels and brothels in the area. It will be a place where girls can go for body, beauty and retail therapy with an endless concentration of spa, salons, a training school and little girlie shops - a retreat where men are finally excluded. The architectural intervention aims to invert the sociological mix of the sexualized network by surrounding a heterogeneous environment with a girlie domination. It is a space of utter narcissistic sensuality in an environment of scopophillic and carnal desires.
