One of the key planning objectives of URA emphasized in the realization of the Concept Plan for New downtown core is to consolidate, intensify and link existing and potential commercial developments with a visual corridor along the Twin Towers and emphasis on activities generated on Marina Bay. The thrust of this thesis, thus, is to develop a design vehicle incorporating waterfront as the center of urban life and introducing activities that would allow the enjoyment of this entity. The proposal is to develop food haven and business hotel establishment in the existing Overseas Union House site. In anticipation of developments that arise from the new downtown, this injection of activities will serve to revitalize the area around Clifford Pier, linking the old downtown's shoulder of the bay towards the proposed Twin Towers and beyond and establish the bay as a gathering space for the public.
