Abstract: Our Tampines Hub (OTH) was built to create a central gathering place for the community, where residents can access a wide range of facilities and services, connect with one another, and participate in community activities. The hub aims to promote social cohesion, active living, and lifelong learning among residents of all ages, and to create a vibrant and inclusive community. Objective measurements were undertaken to evaluate the semi-outdoor Festive Plaza in terms of thermal, visual and acoustical comfort. These measurements were compared against relevant standards such as ASHRAE and Singapore Standards. While some showed satisfactory results, selected spaces have been identified for further improvement for the different environmental comfort performances. Additionally, subjective measurements were conducted via survey questionnaires for occupants in Central Plaza. Some showed contrasting results from the objective measurements while varying responses between respondents were also observed. Nevertheless, these responses were thoroughly assessed and evaluated. Following that, recommendations will be proposed based on the functions of the selected semi-outdoor spaces and the varying types of activities that is present in the spaces.
