The building for the design thesis is a condominium. The theory and design interpret the definition and intention of the URA for condominium development and living at the deeper level. The design formulates the open communal space as required in a condominium development as multi-levelled sky gardens and open spaces interconnected and integrated with facilities, indoors and outdoors. The open communal space is designed to be of a few types serving different purposes and a hierarchy of privacy. There are also private gardens and open spaces built into some types of apartments. The variety of integrated open spaces is designed with the primary objective of creating a low-rise living experience with adjoining gardens and open spaces in a high-rise housing. In addition, the public garden and plaza is allowed to integrate on the ground level as a response by the private development to the immediately surrounding public realm of the city.
