Title: | DUAL-BLIND DEMODULATION FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS | Authors: | GAO SENHAO | Keywords: | Blind demodulation, Modulation classification, Blind equalization, Clustering | Issue Date: | 27-Jan-2022 | Citation: | GAO SENHAO (2022-01-27). DUAL-BLIND DEMODULATION FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The process of demodulating an unknown signal without knowing the channel and modulation type of the signal is called the dual-blind demodulation problem. A blind receiver is required to solve the dual-blind demodulation problem. Traditional blind receivers build a step-by-step structure with different functional blocks to preprocess the incoming signal and recognize the modulation scheme. However, the independence among these blocks may limit the demodulation performance. We aim to integrate a dual-mode equalizer with the proposed \emph{AMC-Loop} structures to combine the signal preprocessing part and the modulation classification part to guarantee both the reliability of the equalizer performance and the classification performance to solve the dual-blind demodulation problem. In this thesis, we first introduce basic models for digital communication systems, a literature review, and motivation for solving the dual-blind demodulation problem. Next, in Chapter 2, we introduce the necessary mathematical preliminaries used in this thesis. In Chapter 3, we propose our main contributions on designing the novel intelligent receiver with the dual-mode equalizer and \emph{AMC-Loop} structures. The simulation results are also included in this chapter. Finally, in Chapter 4, we conclude with a summary of contributions and directions for future work. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/230689 |
