dc.description.abstractDisposal of wastewater sludge often comes with many challenges due to its properties, stringent policies by various authorities and environmental regulations. Together with increasing population and urbanisation all over the world, the production of wastewater sludge will only cease to grow, it is crucial that solutions which allow for their proper disposal while keeping in-line with environmental risks and safety are created before the production of sludge becomes overwhelming. This paper will look at the incorporation of wastewater sludge biochar and wood biochar as partial cement replacements, and their effect on mechanical strength of mortar samples. It will also study the carbon sequestering capabilities of mortar containing different proportions of biochar made from wastewater and wood sludge.
