Issue Date: | 2022 | Citation: | HARESH MENON (2022). ROLE OF AIR-DISINFECTION TECHNOLOGIES IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF BUILDINGS DURING A PANDEMIC. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Begun in late 2019, the COVID 19 virus spread rapidly across the world causing a global pandemic. While origins of the virus are still debated, the world has come to understand that the global spread has been mainly due to airborne transmissibility. The pandemic has brought forth the important question of how to curb transmissibility and create a safer indoor environment for the world to ease into the post-pandemic era. While there have been government health interventions, the evolution of air-disinfection technologies paves a more sustainable path towards the post-pandemic era. A critical review of pre-existing data and the applicability of these technologies will be a crucial indicator on how these technologies can play an active role in ensuring a safe indoor environment across buildings of various profiles. The use of these technologies must be carefully evaluated based on its applicability and safety within different types of buildings and areas of buildings. The dissertation also aims to provide an integrative platform on apps for the facilities management industry to further enhance the use of these technologies widely and efficiently across the nation. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/226607 |
