Abstract: This thesis focuses on the factors that affect homeownership affordability in the Singapore resale public housing market. Using data from Singapore, where a clearly articulated housing policy on homeownership affordability has been in existence since 1964, this paper suggests a measure of homeownership affordability for the existing and potential households of the resale public housing market and examines the factors that affect affordability of homeowners in this particular housing submarket.
