This paper aims to deduce reasons for the lack of implementation of grey water recycling in public housings in Singapore. The water situation and water conservation practices in Singapore are first explored to understand the direction and governments’ take on grey water recycling. After which, available grey water treatment techniques are explored and its suitability analysed for use in Singapore public housings. Once the governments’ views and suitability is established, the reasons for the lack of grey water recycling practices in public housings in Singapore are deduced. Several solutions were then suggested to overcome those obstacles.
