dc.description.abstract | Cleanrooms are not common areas that should be made easily accessible. It is an environment that is highly intolerant against contaminants, and hence, access should only be limited to authorized personnel. Similarly to most facilities, cleanrooms also need a set of security and protection measures to safeguard its assets. However, due to the nature of the cleanroom industries, the requirements for securing the cleanroom plant are more stringent as compared to other common facilities. Therefore, utilization of much sophisticated technologies would be much desirable. Planning and managing the facilities of a cleanroom plant should be a well thought out process that shows attention starting from the boundary line of the facilities and into the internal building. Furthermore, the need to defend against possible threat is to allow for a smooth daily operations and on top of it to ensure the continuity of business. Thus, a crisis management plan is to be drawn out with methods of recovery options and preventive measures against lost of assets. Apart from working on preventive measures and recovery options, one must not neglect the methods for mitigating and suppressing the impact of threats on the cleanroom plant. Thus, various systems that serve these purposes would be discussed. A case study is being conducted to identify the ways that cleanroom industry used to protect their assets. Lastly, summing up with a list of recommendations to improve and enhance the degree of security and protection. | |
