Abstract: This study focused on the indoor environment quality (IEQ) in a multipurpose space. IEQ includes thermal, indoor air quality, lighting and acoustics. It provides an overview of all factors of EA Foyer. EA Foyer has been divided into 6 different zones as each zone is exposed to different building elements and external environments. It aims to determine if the EA Foyer is flexible enough to provide equal level of IEQ for occupants that are in different zones of EA Foyer. In EA Foyer, occupants mostly engage in discussions, having a meal and studying. It also aims to determine if the EA Foyer is flexible enough to provide equal comfort for occupants that are engaging in different activities and how different occupants’ perception are in the EA Foyer. The relationship of temperature perception and comfort and duration spent in EA Foyer is also determined. Data is collected through survey and spot measurements. Continuous measurements of temperature, humidity and CO2 levels were also collected during the duration of data collection. The EA Foyer was flexible enough to provide equal levels of IEQ, in terms of temperature, air movement, lighting and noise level to the occupants. However, it was unable to provide equal levels of humidity and stuffiness and odour. This may be result of occupants having different adaptation to their environment and different level of acceptance. The EA Foyer was flexible enough to provide equal levels of IEQ, in terms of humidity, stuffiness and odour air movement, lighting, noise level. However, it was unable to provide equal levels of temperature perception. There was no strong correlation between temperature perception and comfort, and duration spent in EA Foyer. However, there were difference in trends of temperature perception between different activities. This study shows how IEQ levels vary in a multipurpose space and the impact it has on its occupants. Information of this study can be useful for developers and consultants that are aiming to design and construct a multipurpose space, especially a co-working multipurpose space.
