Abstract: Bangkok was called the Venice of the East. Canal used to form one important part of people’s daily life. However as the city developed, canals were covered up by newly constructed roads and the remaining ones gradually faded out of people’s sight. Therefore how to bring people back to the canal is what this thesis is looking at. This thesis focused on Saen Seab Canal in Bangkok city centre – Pratunam District and tried to deal with the issue of how to attract people to this canal and how to bring out the different qualities of the canal.
