dc.description.abstract | Personal Fall Protection System (PFPS) is known as the last line of defence for any workers who work at heights. However, it seems that most users in Singapore using Do-It-Yourself (DIY) PFPS are under-designed. The design or actual PFPS mostly are not sufficient to break the shock the user will sustain and prevent him or her from sustaining major injuries. This paper aims to examines all the stakeholders involved in the scene of PFPS and find out the forces in play that limit the effectiveness of PFPS. 27 interviews across 4 groups of stakeholders were conducted. The objective is to get different perspectives of the stakeholders, analyse the data, spot trends and link their actions and concerns together to identify the key barriers that are built up by these individual actions. A framework that target the building blocks of these barriers will then be proposed in hope to alleviate the current condition now and eliminate it in the long term. | |
