dc.description.abstract | If one were to key in “smart facilities” into a search engine, ten of thousands of results would just so very easily pop out, providing the reader with a wide spectrum of information and data, all delicately analysed and resiliently backed up by professional papers and articles. Even if we were to narrow such to smart facilities in HDB Towns, the results would still be of a colossal amount. However, if we were to slowly analyse such data and properly categorize them, we would find that research seems to be lacking in addressing the assimilation and integration of such sparkling brand new smart facilities innovations in within old HDB Town Centres. These Town Centres have been the nuclei of many community activities and a mandatory part of many HDB residents’ daily routine. The nuances of this study paper stems from the intricate relationship and the impossibly large range of stakeholders in terms of age, occupation and purpose. This study aims to research the optimization of the integration and utilization of smart facilities within such satellite towns, and in particular within the HDB Town Centres whereby people from all walks of life come together, be it for festive reasons or just simple mundane daily chores. | |
