Abstract: This dissertation investigates both the pros and cons of having a vertical greenery system and the means to create and maintain a healthy and cost effective vertical greenery system. The study will focus on analyzing the various types of vertical greenery system currently available in the market and find out how each system differ from one another. Various case studies would analyzed to identify the issues raised and faced with each different type of vertical greenery and how the maintenance team face or solve the issues as often, results from real world applications would give us a better perspective and understanding on issues which have not been brought up during the research and findings. Interviews with industrial personal such as horticulturist, landscape architect, green wall suppliers and clients who implemented the application of green wall would also be carried out for feedback on the vertical greenery system. From the interviews, we would be able to garner the necessary information and feedback of their views of vertical greenery system from different perspective. With the information and reviews of various vertical greenery systems gathered, a guide for potential vertical greenery system applicants would be generated to assist them in their choice of the vertical greenery system and the steps to maintain and archiving a healthy and long lasting vertical greenery system.
