dc.description.abstractThe Construction industry in Singapore has always been the highest contributor for workplace fatalities compared to other high-risk industries. As the Construction industry gets increasingly complex and dynamic over the years, it prompts the need to address the issue of poor safety performance to prevent accident rates from escalating further. This paper aims to identify common inadequacies in incident investigation process, by conducting a case study of a specific Construction firm in Singapore. The research methodology included a review of relevant literature to gather necessary background knowledge, an interview with an industry expert as well as a detailed analysis of incident investigation reports against a checklist of investigation variables. This paper had provided insights to the limitations of existing incident investigation practices within a specific Construction firm, and further suggested suitable interventions that could potentially aid in improving safety performance of the Construction industry as a whole. Due to the limited scope and qualitative nature of the study, this paper provides opportunities for further research to be conducted.
