Abstract: The advent of sustainable and green developments globally had led to the rise of the various green building rating and certification systems worldwide. Amongst these, the Green Mark Scheme (GMS) developed by the Building and Construction Authorities (BCA) has assumed leadership in the region. The Green Mark Scheme had been successfully implemented in more than 2500 projects in Singapore and the region. BCA’s GMS is currently in its tenth year running, and has released a new version of GMS coined as the Green Mark 2015. It is currently in its piloting phase, and will be officially launched in mid-2016. This study aims to identify the changes and gaps between the Green Mark Version 4 and the new Green Mark 2015 by using a Platinum rated non-residential building certified under the Green Mark Version 4 as the subject case study. The data of the building will be analysed using the Green Mark Version 4 and juxtaposed with the new criterion in Green Mark 2015, to identify its eventual score and rating under the new scheme. Findings demonstrated that the building will need further improvements and increased sustainability features to retain its current Platinum Rating under the new Green Mark 2015. Recommendations will be suggested for the successful retaining of the Platinum Rating, and it will serve as a guide to the maximization of the building’s potential as a sustainable and green development.
