ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The main aim of this dissertation is to study how the method of Eco-housing can be integrated into public residential units in Singapore and eventually reduce energy consumption for each household. It critically evaluates the effectiveness of the implementation of eco-housing and how sustainability can be achieved. Focusing on energy efficiency, thermal and visual comfort, it considers methodologies to measure and benchmark the energy consumption consumed in infrastructures and examine the methods currently implemented in different types of residential buildings. Primary research conducted for this dissertation has highlighted prime factors that have been significantly contributing to the energy consumption.
