dc.description.abstract | The thesis project is inspired by the ABC Water Program by Public Utility Board. The ABC water program proposes re-development of waterway and waterbody in Singapore. The three main focuses of ABC Water program are: A: active, B: beautiful and C: clean. Currently, an extensive concrete-lined canals system is built in the urban area with an aim to discharge urban stormwater as quickly as possible and channel it to various reservoirs. The system functions effectively as infrastructure, but it just remains as infrastructure and does not encourage activities to take place along the waterways and waterbody. Hence, the thesis project investigates and proposes a biological filtration canal to replace a small concrete-lined canal. At the same time, the thesis aims integrate this into the landscape in a park and create an identity for the park. | |
