Abstract: Increasing awareness of environmental issues has recently materialised in a move toward the optimization of production systems to ensure an elevated level of product eco-compatibility. This process has led to the development of a new methodological approach to green product design. Currently, there are many green products available in the market, but how many of these green products are high in design and yet able to support global sustainability? The invention of 3form products has created design-driven materials with an unyielding commitment to environmental responsibility. This study attempts to examine how beneficial 3form products are in term of environmental issues and its application as a building material. However, availability of these green products does not prove beneficial if it is not being utilised. Hence, this study also specifically aims to find out: What is the awareness and understanding level of our local design professional perception towards using 3form? What are the factors that can influence the choice of choosing 3form? What are the barriers to choose 3form? The research will be carried out on books about product design for green environment as well as the information provided from the official 3form website. A survey questionnaire will then be carried out with various building professional of architectural and interior designers. Finally this study ends with the summary of the findings, limitation, recommendation for future work and conclusion.
