dc.description.abstract | The thesis is a study on the effects of water demand and supply problem in Singapore. In Singapore’s water situation, there is a perpetual need for more fresh water to sustain the country’s growth. In recent times, Singapore’s drive for water independence has culminated in the building or allocation of more reservoirs as well as efforts to reduce and recycle water. The project explains how designing a water efficient building through coordination of various sustainable technologies plays a vital role in Singapore’s overall Water Resource Management. Building blocks could act as a form of water catchment structure on capitalising rain water during rainfall. In other words, the thesis concentrates on the issues of how designing a water efficient building will help the city-state turn her vulnerability into strength by investing in infrastructure and technology. By focusing on various water technology and management capabilities by means of examining the green rating guidelines. In this research it will encompasses government sponsored research to gather and organize information about the relationship of building development with the water structure and to enhance the Singapore water sustainability plan. Therefore, the research can be described as descriptive study as well as explanatory research. | |
