The project envisions the spatialization of the 6m wide borderline into a space that caters to the rejected and displaced individuals following a critical reading of the future anticipated inequitable developments between Iskandar Malaysia and Singapore: the Borderline. Situated in the most prominent border-space between the two states, the Borderline receives and accommodates displaced workers from the two regions who are otherwise ‘priced-out’ from the social and economic development of these two regions. Ironically, the Borderline is densified when high social and economical inequity exists, and lies under-used when social and economical equity returns. In so doing, the Borderline serves as the conscientious spatial mirror between the two states within the very space that separates them.
