Abstract: The ammonia oxidation reaction (AOR) is critical to convert ammonia into green-energy. AOR is not only effectively used in sewage treatment, but its carbon-free products also make it have a wider application prospect as an ideal hydrogen energy carrier. The main problem currently faced by AOR catalysts is the sluggish reaction rate, which is reflected in the large overpotential and low Faraday efficiency. Recently, nickel-based electrodes have been reported as the most promising AOR anode materials, and are cost-effective to industrialization. This project conduct a systematic study on the application of nickel-based electrode materials in AOR, that are modified by means of doping and adding external magnetic field to achieve promising electrocatalyst performance. Then, combined with DFT calculations and experimental results, an in-depth understanding of the mechanism of the AOR process is investigated.
