Title: | IMPACT OF THE INTERNET ON REAL ESTATE AGENTS | Authors: | LIM HWEI BIN AUDREY | Issue Date: | 2004 | Citation: | LIM HWEI BIN AUDREY (2004). IMPACT OF THE INTERNET ON REAL ESTATE AGENTS. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The phenomenon rise of the Internet has created a virtual world for businesses.as well as homes. Increasingly, consumers in this new age are turning to the net for information and services, other than the usual brick and mortar establishments. This study looks into the usage of the Internet by real estate agents and the perceived negative impacts. The relationship between the profde of respondents from a survey and the perceived individual negative impacts will be examined to gain an insight into the repercussions of the Internet on the real estate industry. It was found that market research and contractual agreements were the least negatively impacted among all the services, whereas house viewing was the opposite. Generally, the agents have a positive outlook on the impact of the Internet on them. The high usage of the Internet in their work, the negligible amount of people who preferred to bypass them due to the Internet and the many others, all contribute to the conclusion that the agents are highly unlikely to be eliminated by the Internet. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/217936 |
