ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||Optic nerve head tissue biomechanics may play a part in the development of glaucoma. This project aims to demonstrate the feasibility of estimating the ONH tissue stiffness in human eyes based on the ocular pulse-induced full-field deformations. This project can be divided into two parts: (1) the identification of ONH material properties from the full-field measurements and (2) the measurement of ocular pulse-induced ONH displacements. Three specific aims were achieved: (1) verify the use of virtual fields method for the estimation of ONH tissue stiffness in patient-specific finite element models, (2) apply virtual fields method to estimate and analyze the ONH tissue stiffness of glaucomatous and ocular hypertensive human eyes in vivo, and (3) use low coherence tissue interferometry for measurement of ocular pulse-induced ONH tissue displacements in porcine eyes ex vivo.||URI:||https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/214483|
