|Title:||MORE THAN A BRIDGE: A STUDY OF MALAYSIA-SINGAPORE LINKAGES THROUGH THE JOHOR CAUSEWAY||Authors:||CHOO TEIK CHOON||Keywords:||Bridge, Johor Causeway, Malaysia Singapore Relations||Issue Date:||16-Aug-2013||Citation:||CHOO TEIK CHOON (2013-08-16). MORE THAN A BRIDGE: A STUDY OF MALAYSIA-SINGAPORE LINKAGES THROUGH THE JOHOR CAUSEWAY. ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||This thesis examines the Malaysia-Singapore relations through the Johor Causeway covering the period under Tun Dr Mathahir Mohamad until today. The Johor Causeway has been used for the conveyance of people and vehicles and yet it affects the nature of their close relations in terms of the sociological, political and economic dimensions. While there are books and articles on the relationships between Malaysia and Singapore, they have not considered the Causeway in depth as part of their perspectives. This thesis therefore serves to fill in the knowledge gap by examining the relationship from the perspective of the Causeway. This would enable the people, business communities and leaders of both countries to build and develop even stronger ties. The Causeway is in fact more than just a bridge as it has cemented the linkages between the people of Malaysia and Singapore for a long period of time.||URI:||https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/214216|
