Abstract: As the world steps into the age of technology, more and more businesses are being conducted through electronic means. Property management is a sector becoming increasingly involved in Electronic Commerce. However, like any electronic business, security is a very critical issue. Security has to do with ensuring confidentiality, identification, authorization and non-repudiation of the players and their transactions within the portal. In an attempt to enhance this flourishing technology, efforts have been made to overcome security issues to allay users' fears and increase confidence. To catalyze the potential growth of electronic commerce, there is a need to seek the knowledge of risks involved and the security technologies in use right now. A survey is carried out to find out the attitude of property management professionals towards the security of electronic commerce. The result is that, security is a major issue holding property management companies back from adopting electronic commerce in daily operations. Hence, property management professionals should be aware of the dangers of electronic commerce, as well as available technologies that they could use in the securitization of Internet-based information.
