Abstract: Internet of Things &40;IoT&41; is rapidly evolving and applied extensively in various areas such as smart home&44; smart healthcare&44; smart agriculture&44; and smart city&46; A key feature of these IoT systems is the integration of a wide assortment of technologies&44; including multiple standards&44; customized or proprietary communication protocols&44; and heterogeneous platforms&46; During the integration&44; critical security vulnerabilities are likely to be introduced&44; due to customization&44; unsatisfied assumptions&44; incompatibility&44; conflicts in security policies&44; and lack of comprehensive testing&46; Hence&44; this thesis aims to address the security problems in IoT systems from an integration perspective&44; as a complement to numerous studies that focus on the analysis of individual techniques&46; In this thesis&44; we propose systematic ways to analyze the security of two main types of IoT integrations&44; i&46; e&46; &44;edge-based integrations &40;e&46; g&46; &44; smart home integrations&41; and cloud-based integrations &40;e&46; g&46; &44; multi-party trigger-action integration platforms&41; to find security vulnerabilities in them&46;
