|Title:||'Young' Actor Studios: Developing the Stage Actor Through Praxis Communities.||Authors:||TAN SI PENG TERENCE||Keywords:||Singapore Theatre||Issue Date:||9-Jan-2009||Citation:||TAN SI PENG TERENCE (2009-01-09). 'Young' Actor Studios: Developing the Stage Actor Through Praxis Communities.. ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||This research aims to highlight the emergence of youth-based theatre training programmes affiliated to artists and theatre companies from the Singapore theatre scene. These studios, being part community theatre, part theatre education and part professional training, illustrates an adolescent period in the Singapore scene whereby theatre practice is less confined to the definitions of professional, amateur, and community-based theatre. With this platform, the author also highlights how studies on the Singapore theatre scene have thus far been inadequate, for it is a highly diverse field of contesting and accompanying objectives, positions and cultural identities, located in a landscape of praxis communities.||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/19225|
