Initial step of photoreaction is proportional to Local Volumetric Rate of Energy Absorption, thus it is essential to evaluate the light field in photoreactors as accurately as possible. Light intensity in homogeneous and heterogeneous photoreactors was measured using chemical actinometry in the study. Existing models in literature were reviewed and carefully compared and analyzed. New models were developed for various types of photoreactors.
