The coming of the Changi Airport Line (CAL) is one of the major developments in Singapore's land transport policy It has been designed to offer maximum comfort and convenience to airport users, help to convey the image of a world-class transportation system in Singapore and to promote the external perception of the image of our city. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of the proposed CAL on the travel decisions of the travelers/ visitors. Using travelers from both Singapore and other countries for comparison, and based on a sample of 200 travelers, it was found that 77% of respondents from both groups appeared to be unwilling to switch to the CAL. Therefore, the survey showed that the CAL has little impact on the travel decisions of the travelers The CAL will not replace the taxi service for the tourists T-tests were also employed to investigate whether there was any difference in response between the two groups of respondents. For hypothesis 2, we went further to investigate whether frequency is as important as the feature of trains in deciding the switch to CAL. Looking at the results obtained, H, of Hypothesis 2 was accepted It showed that frequency is not as important as some of the other features of the train in deciding the switch to the CAL for both groups of travelers. This study seeks to provide insights to aid planners in formulating the transport policies.
