The concept of waterfront housing is new in Singapore, an area yet to be fully explored. It represents a new frontier in the property scene as we approach the next millennium. With the river just at the doorstep and water sports facilities a stone's throw away, it is the ideal living environment for both the old and the young generations. The first waterfront city was materialised in Tanjong Rhu a few years ago. What are the driving forces behind the demand for such housing? This study aims to understand the mindset of the residents living in the present waterfront city.
